SMP Charity Mini-Putt: It's More than Golf

SMP Engineering's Mini-Putt event raises funds for local Alberta charities

Since 2011, SMP has hosted a biennial mini-putt tournament in our Calgary office. During our event planning phase, with input from our staff, we select a local charitable organization in Alberta to receive 100% of funds raised through event registrations, event sponsorships, ring toss game, raffle prize draws, and the 50/50 draw.

In 2022, we unfortunately lost a member of the SMP team - Will Jones - and his family asked us if we would consider supporting a charity close to the family, Wood's Homes. With locations and support systems in Calgary and Lethbridge, Wood's Homes mission is to provide treatment and support to children, youth and families with mental health needs.

This year we proudly raised $35,240.30 for Wood's Homes in Will's memory. Our partnership doesn't end here and SMP will be supporting Wood's Homes through various volunteering opportunities until 2024 when we select a new organization to support for our mini-putt tournament.
